Don´t know if this particular repack version would also have worked if I just had blocked the launcher to check for updates …but because I didn´t it wouldn´t let me play offline (the installer didn´t install any /profile files for social club to my /documents folder so I doubt it would have worked out but who knows…) so I installed every file in the v1.0.0.47 update, copied the /profile folder, unplugged my internet and selected offline play. Works fine this way and the game is a blast :)

grml … because I don´t know if the comment how I got it to work is saved or not here is it again …
Maybe this particular version works if you block the launcher to check for updates in the first place (block in firewall as explained here http://superuser.com/questions/363540/how-can-i-block-a-program-from-accessing-the-internet) or just unplug internet connection …but because I didn´t the game said I had to install an update to play ..after that you are stuck in the social club login screen…
So I installed every file in the v1.0.0.47 update ( http://www.skidrowgames.net/max-payne-3-update-v1-0-0-47-reloaded.html ) and copied the /profile folder to my /documents/rockstar games/social club.
After that block the launcher and game executable or unplug your internet, start with the PlayMaxPayne3 file in the install directory (desktop shortcut didn´t work for me!) and you can select offline play …after that everything works just fine and the game is a blast.
btw… chapter 3 now and no freezes or crashes so far whatsoever.

1. The update 1.0.0.47 has a bug at the final chapters when Max has to get down a train, he gets stuck at the door.

For all those having the infinite loading problem when lauching the game I had the same issue and solved it. Here’s how :
- Follow the instructions from the Reloaded nfo
- Install the game (obviously) and both 1.0.0.22 and 1.0.0.28 updates as explained in the nfo
- Right click on PlayMaxPayne3.exe, properties, compatibility then choose to launch the exe in compatibility mode for Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1)
- Launch the game using the exe while being offline to avoid the game from updating.
That worked for me.
I tried a lot of suggested solutions before getting it to work, I hope this’ll do the trick for y’all.
