oh i see, yeah cause running the install from the iso i downloaded just installs steam only and then asks you for the skyrim cdkey, so i take it phoenix bypasses all of that???

yes it does more or less, steam requires the cd key to unpack and install, phoenix 1.5 beta 8 is what you want google it and soon you can unpack this to where ever you wanna play it from
as far as the 5gb size goes, fallout new vegas is only 6.4 gb and fallout 3 is only 5.6 and since this is a dx9 game with just some dx11 lighting and optimizations the file size is about right considering the new compression tech

Hey guys, when im trying to unpack disk 1 sim it still says you need to select something first with Pheonix.. can anyone help/explain to me how to make this work out?
in the phoenix… once you selected the sim file. press “scan a sim file” button, an then “select all” button… then unpack… but you have to wait till 11-11….
you can’t unpack with pheonix yet. steps are 1. click instruments followed by update ContentDescriptionRecord. 2. click instruments followed by sid unpacker. 3. find the skyrim.sim file. 4. click scan a sim-file button. 5. in the bottom orange box you will see skyrim content.ncf and skyrim english.ncf you want to click both of those. 6. click unpack and wait for it to complete

i do all the steps till No5 but when i select the game and the other 2 Phoenix gives me a msg saying Optionally downloadable (not present on disk) skyrim exe.ncf any idea what i have to do? if i ignore it and hit unpack it does all the extraction without errors but not in the folder i set….i also searched in case there is a TESV file but nothing…

i copied *.sim *.sid *.sis files out of the .iso and used phoenix 1.5 to unpack it but that gave me an error.. i guess i’ll just wait

Cracking this file will be near impossible to do until release at 12:01 11/11/11 EST this is because at that time the 1.1 update for skyrim will be released.. containing the final files needed to start the game. There are plenty of reports of PC users in Australia already having their retail copies however not being able to install the game. Not only because the program says so but also because the files are simply not there yet, and will not be until installing the 1.1 update.
Basically right now asking for a crack is as good as gas in a car with no wheels.

i was wondering how the phoenix updating thing works. why do we have to wait until 11.11.11 to extract sim file. shouldnt phoenix be able to extract all sim files? what do they need to wait for in order to update phoenix. can someone clear this up for me?

I got this same error, I hit continue and the game installed, I just don’t have any audio past the main screen :(
I extracted it with phoenix 1.5 b8, waiting for crack. If you get some errors by phoenix-> try update it!

crack on piratebay of dude works. i unpacked with phoenix, ignored the error at the end. and copied paste files of the dude. only problem is. the screen of the game is window, bout 10 cm by 7cm and i cant get it fullscreen.

using phoenix 1.5 beta 8 updated. shows extracting screen like if it was working (fulls green bars and all) when y click “unpack”, but nothing is written in my hard disk. any ideas? i feel like a retarded.

Ha! it was the fu***** win 7 permissions to write in the disk, must run the phoenix exe as administrator. since it gave no warnings (just didnt work) i took me time to fin out.

Hey guys, I’ve just downloaded the retail version, and now when I’m trying to install, the Steam ask for an Activation Key. What should I put on it? Or I just installing in a wrong way?

To install and play, do this:
1. Download Phoenix: http://stat1cv01d.com/load/phoenix_1_5_beta_8/1-1-0-13
2. Launch Phoenix and go to the Instruments tab and click UpdateDescriptionRecord, then internet. Let that download.
3. Go to Instruments tab and click SIM Unpacker
4. In the SIM-file box, find The Elder Scrolls V- Skyrim_disk1.sim
5. For Destination folder, select the same as where the The Elder Scrolls V- Skyrim_disk1.sim file is.
6. Click Scan SIM-file.
7. Select the two files in the second orange box.
8. Click Unpack and let that unpack.

11. Copy the crack to Skyrim folder.

Installed the game, it loads up apparently fine, but I only get audio on the main menu, when the game starts there’s no more audio, anyone know what could cause that?

Listen to Edge, just run skyrimlauncher.exe and change all the settings you want normally. No reason to edit the ini at all.
